What is an RDHAP?
An RDHAP is a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice—a California-licensed dental professional with additional education who can provide preventive dental hygiene care outside a traditional dental office.

I’m Cheryl A. Greer, a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice and the founder of Cheryl A. Greer RDHAP, Inc.
For more than two decades, I’ve provided dental hygiene care to diverse communities. My portable practice removes barriers and brings respectful prevention to people who may have difficulty accessing a traditional dental office.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, graduating summa cum laude, and completed my RDHAP training at California Northstate University.

Cheryl serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, different communication needs, sensory sensitivities, and varying levels of independence. Extra time, clear explanations, and caregiver collaboration help create a positive experience.
School and community-based care can include screenings, cleanings, fluoride varnish, sealants, oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling, and referral support—with appropriate parent or guardian consent.
Visits are paced carefully and may involve family members or caregivers. The focus is comfort, familiar routines, prevention, caregiver guidance, and identifying concerns before they become emergencies.
Portable services can be arranged in residential facilities, skilled nursing settings, adult day programs, and other approved community locations, helping organizations reduce transportation barriers.
Cheryl partners with schools, community organizations, regional centers, care facilities, and local programs to reach people who face financial, mobility, transportation, or access barriers.
